Withs so many tech firms laying off right now, I don't think we'll be spared much longer. I wouldn't worry too much if these were regular layoffs, but with so many people in similar positions looking for jobs at the same time, this might be the worst possible time to be affected. We'll see what happens, I guess.

Layoffs aren’t impending, but FAANG stocks are tanking right now. The reason is fear over the upcoming interest rate hikes, a necessity to ki-l Bidenflation. The hikes will hit the housing market and business investment, and the stock market will likely fall further. Then you get the reverse of the so-called wealth effect, something that will impede consumer spending. This all likely leads to a recession, and Intel will always use that as an excuse to do a layoff.
So why hire excessively now? It allows them to force out more older employees in the next layoff and improve the skew towards younger, less expensive employees.
I doubt Intel would have layoffs. Semiconductor industry is booming. Groups that would normally be layed off are now getting redeployed to IFS or other internal roles.
@ PolkaDancer If that is true, why are you here? This is a layoff site, even an intel manager should be able to understand that? Then again, apparently not.
HR is working hard here again.
The people talking about layoffs are evil bitter former employees with hate in their hearts. It is good vs. evil in thelayoff web site. No rumors of layoffs, only mass expansion.
Yea, y'all are pretty much f*cked
Nepotistic management building their empires is separate from laying off the last of the non political technical contributors.
Did you know they are hiring like crazy right now? Why would you think its layoff time?
Well the wives and cousins are not going anywhere, so everyone else better watch out for the outlook invite with HR.
