Positive vibes

What are the good things that makes people stay here, in spite of all the negativity on this site and at work….

  1. Great technology in the core database
  2. Great architects with vast knowledge and history
  3. Great Customer/Engineering support

Anything more? (+ve only)

  1. I had a challenging situation with my family's health issues. All of my managers could not have been more supportive and kind when I needed to go take care of family. They have compassion for their employees. I know that this is probably not always the case with all managers, but I have had probably 7 or 8 different managers since I joined the company and have learned from everyone of them and they have each helped to grow my knowledge and skills. And they have all had big hearts.
  1. I have managers who have been here a long time (one over 15 years) and he is very capable and able to remove roadblocks for me so that I can best help my clients. I like that I work for managers who know more than I do.
  1. Our VP of sales, CRO, and CEO are always willing to help when needed
  1. When there are issues with our software there is a huge team of people who swarm on the problem and resolve it quickly.
  1. My co-workers are like family. In fact it is the only company I have ever worked for where I look forward to meeting my "family" from all over the world.
  1. I learn so much for so many who are willing to help me - I have never seen a more supportive sales culture in any company I have ever worked for. Normally it has very cut throat. I've been in sales for over 20 years and I've seen alot.
  1. The Sales Trips are wonderful. I qualified and was recently invited on a trip to Monaco - it was the most amazing trip in my life and I have been all over the world. They hired Gypsy Kinds as our band, had amazing tours of the south of France and it was fantastic.
  1. I love the maturity of my coworkers (I mean mentally not age wise). They are diverse in their talents and interests. In fact we have an amazing band and I have learned about much more than predictive analytics, and hardware. I've learned about Music, BBQ, Fashion, and a whole host of subjects outside of work.
  1. We treat our customers well - I had the opportunity to take my clients to a concert to see The Zach Brown Band. It was just amazing
  1. We sponsored one of our customers who had a charity ball. I was blessed to dance the night away with all of their top management. Teradata invests in their customers charities or important programs any way possible.

I would probably write a book to tell you everything that this company has done which has improved my life - but I'll just leave you with those few things listed above.

Did the OP '1, 2, 3 positives' just list every area of TD that was hit with RIFs recently?

Excellent work life balance (really working hard doesn’t help you grow faster, but you can pretend, if you know how to play the tricks, or try to talk a lot, this is a part of the culture)
