I know people are complaining, things can be rough, etc. In short, it depends on the manager you work for. I have a manager that's a great mentor and she's pushing all of us to grow, so this is the reason I am sticking around. I read all the negative comments here and it's scary as my opinion is very much different.

I just do my work. I focus on it. It's all what I can do now.
You can't place all your faith in one person. A lot of my great managers have been made redundant or left. Thank goodness for great colleagues.
Depend on yourself, learn what you can and be prepared for the worse. The worse is not scary if you prepared for it.
