Thread regarding TIBCO Software Inc. layoffs

I checked out the Citrix page today

What kind of mess did we get ourselves into?? That place seems like a complete mess! I am well aware that TIBCO is far from perfect but some of the things I've read there are downright scary. I was never looking forward to this merger but I have to say that my enthusiasm has reached a new low.

When an organization has the premier product to overtake another company you have to wonder, why the lack of investment on the product?

You have to wonder why a product introduced years ahead was allowed to die on the line while the competition boosted like it had Nitrous Oxide?

You have to wonder why an organization who pays $8M to a company for a solution when you are now merging with a company who has the direct competitor but you choose to ki-l your own product in the competition?

Paying $8M a year to Splunk while allowing LogLogic to be thrown to the side… Smells of Kickbacks or future plans to do what has been done over and over again by Vista and now Tom Krause helping!

TIBCO / Citrix is an amalgamation of products which make money, but will be milked until they die. Limited investment, cost cutting is the way forward. Where are all the new logos?

Tibco reached its prime around 2012. Every since then the acquisitions come in to replace the lost income. So many products which were market leaders at the time of the acquisition were ruined by milking them. Loglogic existed before Splunk. Spotfire before Tableau, the story goes on.

I am also a Citrix employee, that was just laid off yesterday. I kind of knew this was going to happen. This is why I tell people never rely on me source of income.

Vista equity Robert Smith is like Thanos. . He buys the company cut the 50% and make the company worst . Then he buys another and do the same .

I am also a Citrix employee and the 8% attrition number is garbage. Attrition in engineering has been around 33%. Anyone telling you different is misinformed at best, lying at worst.

That said, there are still some very good engineers at Citrix.

I’m in engineering at Citrix. What I read over on the Citrix board does not align well with my day-to-day experience.

I'm also a Citrix employee. I love the company but agree that management needs help and direction. I have access to headcount numbers - we've lost about 8%. I plan on staying and riding this out.

I've noticed the same thing.

It's messy.

I know two engineers that work for Citrix, both of they are amazing, top notch professionals. I am not sure about their mgmt and leadership, but I am sure their engineering is solid.

Back in end of 2014, early 2015 you could see the same kind of messages on the TIBCO board after the Vista acquisition (everybody is leaving … and etc). At the end not everybody left, new hires came and the company is still doing well. It should be said also that many of the one that left in 2015 already changed job again (and even multiple times for some of them).
But that being said I agree there is a lot of uncertainty at the moment and I hope this not going to last much longer.
I think We are going to see more changes in the coming months than we have seen in many years.

Hey there! I'm a Citrix employee, and I wish I could say you were wrong... our company has a long culture of amazing management, high employee moral, riveting benefits, but it has reallyyyyyyyyyyyy gone down hill with the new Leadership we have. I'm hopeful that things will turn around, since they have before, but who knows. Attrition at Citrix is at 33%... there may not be much of a company to merge with after it's all said and done. I'm truly heartbroken to see this company go downhill. They've always been very good to me. I check the Tibco page regularly to see if I can learn anything new too. Just keep in mind that only complainers go to these pages, so what you read on the Citrix page will not always be 100% accurate or indicative of the company -- though we're def not in the best place for sure.
