Thread regarding Northwestern Mutual layoffs

NYC Waste

Once again it’s party time in New York city for leaders who spend more time pushing social agendas than leading. Waste.

In my department, the employees who produce the least amount of value are from ny. Most of them play around but don't deliver anything and know next to nothing about the business so cannot be effective. Our leaders let them hang out on the side or have created fake roles for them to hide under while the rest of the wisconsin based employees do the real work.

Wasn't it not that long ago that px was barely rolled out or couldn't be used widely bc it didn't have all the features?
If you factor in how much learnvest cost NM, tell me how much they've made for NM.

The nonsensical jealously of the NY operation is the strangest. It is the NY-based efforts that are trying to take a moribund company into the modern mega competitive world. Is it inferiority complex by those of us in Milwaukee? Are people upset that the NY team makes demonstrably more money than what can be commanded at HQ in Milwaukee? Whatever it is, get over it.

I don’t think half of the company knows what that NYC does, it’s not just PX. They developed software that automatically finds and delivers new leads to FRs, they had to do all of that manually before. The CX team is breathing new life on the client side, keeping clients engaged and keeping retention up. PX is at least indirectly responsible b/c it’s able to better tailor insurance products to its clients.

At least tech in NYC is eating the rest of NM alive and it’s not even close. I can see why the rest of the company is jealous.

Nah, the record growth is coming from world turbulence and FRs who hustle way harder than anyone in the home office.

Sorry to say it, but PX was never going to be it. PX isn’t disrupting a 160-year-old dinosaur that isn’t innovating on its business model at all. The robo insurers are going to eat our lunch.

It’s nice to focus on petty us vs them politics, though.

I find it funny that Milwaukee hates on NYC so much when all of the record growth at NM is coming from PX - the NYC office.

Keep hoping the NYC office fails and say goodbye to those fat bonuses every year and then the real layoffs starts to happen.

Pretty soon they will be starting their "Summer Hours" on Fridays to disappear and enjoy their 15% premium pay while the rest of us work and pick up their slack.

Ahh the good old days when the learnvest people would come into milwaukee, network for a few hours, then go out to eat and get smashed. They'd always ask mke teams, why don't you come to NY or fly on the jet? You don't need a reason and you can expense everything!

I agree with the previous poster. This is what SLT has been wanting. Spend more money on buildings so employees spend more time commuting so they spend more time at parties eating free food.

Possibly people are confused because they are not sure which learnvest office it is, 1,2,3 thus the social hour to make sure people get the address.

Toasting at todays social hour, leadership I think we bought the future learnvest planning tools, engineers I think we bought Excel with macros.....

Boy wonder behold the future, we just shut it down, behold the future PX!!!!!!!!!!
