I’ve heard of some cases where Macy’s fired employees for the smallest thing. Is that really true? I'm interested in the reasons why the company fired you or fired someone you know.

Years ago when I worked there I was almost fired for “sleeping on the job”. Stupid mo--n manager couldn’t take a closer look to see I was putting pants away on the BOTTOM shelf. I quit immediately thereafter.
I wasn’t fired, but I was demoted from sales manager to “story lead” (with a pay raise). I was told this was a lateral move. But it wasn’t and it was to get me to shut up as I kept asking for a promotion to MTM after being in my sales manager position for 3 years. I was being passed over by people who weren’t qualified for the position. Needless to say I quit the week after “story”’opened up because I saw that story wasn’t going anywhere !
I was fired for demanding more out of colleagues than they wanted to give. I demanded more from colleagues that were friends of the store manager. Because in MP we recycle management back into the store and don’t accept changes. So when a manager is recycled back to MP they have their friends in place, and they get to do less. While all the rest have to do more. Great place to work as along as you are in the clique.
