Thread regarding Commscope Inc. layoffs

Did the layoffs already happen or are they set to happen?

I'm both terrified of losing my job right now and terrified of someone on my team getting axed and leaving us with a crazy workload.

To the previous person speaking to the facility sale.

I doubt it bc those places make money whether or not the other prod lines are assuming they are not mismanaged.

Let me guess, you are one of the ones believing Drendel is coming back with a team to buy them back for himself? Lol

word is both catawba and claremont cable factories are on the block and actively for sale.

management believes cable manufacturing is not critical to long term success? this is truly legacy commscope.

I left CommScope a little over 1.5 years ago. I worked for Ruckus/Brocade when I was their. It was my decision to leave. It was hard to overcome 20+ years of inertia. I am very happy I did so. While my new employer is not perfect (none are), they are an order of magnitude better than CS. My compensation is much better and my benefits are much better. Don't be afraid to look and make a move. While it is scary to do so for many folks, you won't regret it if you do. There are much better options outside of CommScope.

To answer your question, layoffs for THIS QUARTER happened last week. I was one of hundreds if not more impacted. I say this quarter as I fully expect as they continue to struggle to grow EBITDA there may be more in the very future. It is encouraging to hear from others here they were able to bounce back quickly and find something better. Good luck.

Two years, July 27th is my Independence Day from CS. I had 3 day notice. Like the other, it was a tremendous blow knowing I had years of loyal dedicated service, and the lack of quality employees that didn’t get axed bc they were green, stupid and brown nosers. I started calling contacts and recruiters that week, and several of us fortunate ones started meeting to work together in our search and for therapy the following week. We all had multiple offers within 3-4 weeks and started within 6 weeks of departure to take a time to relax before starting new opportunities. I to, make more, much less stress, and became so efficient at CS I work less. Anyone unsure and apprehensive of change, step outside your comfort zone and you will succeed.

Hear me out now, will ya.
Here is some free advise, Last Friday marks my 1 year anniversary of emancipation from Commscope and here are how things went.
They let me go with 2 days notice, not weeks but mere days. This dented my self esteem for a little bit, not going to lie. Eventually, I got over it and started searching for a job, it took a couple of months but I landed on my feet in a better company.
My TC doubled, yes I got a 100% raise in base pay. No, it's not a humble brag at all, that is how underpaid I was in relation to the market. I am working on better things, that have a real impact on our future generations well being.

Take a leap of faith in yourself, set a plan to upskill (trust me there is a lot of catching up to do), execute your plan with discipline and focus. The juice is worth the squeeze, trust me on this.

Fair tidings to you and yours.

looks like the company wide event already happened (at least for this quarter)!!
timing matches - it does happen during the merit/budget planning cycle every year!
