This exact same question (word for word) and half the responses (word for word) was posted on the Exxon site. Weird.
Take the money and run
I have left from shell. Good advice from all.
Age etc. Think security.
In the past four years I’ve moved from 83% PIR to 86% PIR.
Take it!
I’ll be honest economy being a little shaky also works into the equation. We got another 3-4 years till next re-org with oil prices the way they are. Any thoughts ?
it should be a no brainer but I would like climb the ladder. I can always jump ship but is it worth it in the long run. The 401k contributions go up and pension possibly PIR. Tenure counts somewhat longer you hang around better it looks?
Unless you are just deeply in love with what you do, and 100% happy with who you do it for, and you couldn't imagine being anywhere else... this is a no brainer. (And I'm going to guess if you were 100% happy you wouldn't be looking so there's that.)
My question is how tf did you get a promotion when you can’t even make a decision like this.
You’re assuming you’ll receive another promotion in three years - see other posts regarding how long people have gone without a promotion and how much people’s salaries have increased with a promotion - some basic math should help with your dilemma.
