How is job security for senior software engineer (3-5 YOE) at Bloomberg? I have never heard of Bloomberg laying off engineers due to economic conditions so was wondering.
I have an offer from Microsoft but they are always laying people off...

never heard of layoffs, only low performers were let go. but everybody knew they are not doing their job and it was surprise how long they managed to stay with the company and not be fired. During good times bloomberg business is booming, during bad even more booming. TL’s vary from team to team, some are good and some are toxic narcissistic micromanagers, there is always option to switch team if something did not click with new tl
Bloomberg finds a way to either a.) micromanage you out with "team leaders" who are weapons grade id--ts or b.) make goals or targets so outrageously unobtainable youre either fired or quit. Worst company Ive ever worked for.
Be ready to be in at 8am (don’t be late) and leave at 6pm (no earlier) and have lunch at your desk.
