I discussed this a bit with some close colleagues. Are there many here who think that the future of this company depends on competitors failing? I have a mixed opinion about that.

After Mobile was closed and we all got fired most of us went to Apple where we learned how it feels to win
So true
I left after 7 years - 5.5 years were cool, 1.5 years were he-l. The nature of the work changed very little, my contribution (volume and quality) did not change at all, the only thing that was changing were managers. If you get a bad manager it can turn a good company into a vad one. I moved on and things are much better now. Intel is an amazing company and I've learned so much, I cannot complain at all. At the same time, I had some bad luck there.
Yes! Ask yourself how many big name companies are no longer around because they were outcompeted versus no longer around because they made stupid financial decisions, were corrupt, or other.
@fcd+1gFs2fef. Aicha herself was a failure, she messed up iCDG. I think at one stage MR wanted to fire her (media already reported her departure), but BK retained her (because of the diversity issue ??)
I remember a discussion with Aicha about failing - which we did a lot in the Mobile-space. She told us, if we want to know how it feels to fail constantly we should check with the people at AMD. She thought they would fail forever. That was wrong as we know now … After Mobile was closed and we all got fired most of us went to Apple where we learned how it feels to win … I also sold all my Intel stocks and bought TSMC .. getting fired was not so bad at all.
