Was there an internal name or code word for the recent layoffs? Anyone know what the brass is calling the next layoffs?
Just curious.

In August 2004 the name of future HC reductions was called "DOOMSDAY". The plan was to go into effect based pretty much on the Explorer sales of 04/05. It was staggered over a five-year period. The optimum number of heads the company wanted at the end was between 17-20k salaried for NA.
Since I retired and not privy to this information anymore and given the current pattern of off shoring and EV vehicle structure, I suspect that number to be much lower. I have read the EV require between -30-40% less Labor such as UAW and close to 30% salaried. If you look at the offshoring of older commodities the number will drop well below 12k.
I was an LL4+. I hate to see anyone laid off. You are dealing with people's livelihood.
So, to those people who wish old people leave you are sick and need mental help.
Yes the VIP of 2020 also had the same "clause about never being able to be employed by Ford ever again" AND you could not even work for a supplier (e.g. Roush, or Bosch) on any Ford projects.
However there was not a "non compete clause" !
O M A H A
FORD (Fired Or Replaced Daily)
They were called FIRED, and the next round will be FIRED.
Layoffs imply temporary/come back to work. These are FIRINGS.
Pretty simple.
T.N.T. (Totally New Talent)
Farley named it: We Have All The Wrong Employees (WHAT WE)
(Especially the Chairman and CEO.)
Did previous layoffs have clauses about never being able to be employed by ford ever again? This one should be y'all the redheaded step children gtfo.
