Thread regarding Broadcom Corp. layoffs

I hate the office

In fact, what frustrates me the most is that everything I do in the office, I can do much faster and much better at home, where I do not have so many distractions.
Does the leadership really think that any of the young talents will want to come here, when there are so many remote options for them out there? I think the company will get into big trouble because leadership is stuck in the past.

I hate being in office but job is so easy. Do just enough to be R2 and enjoy the vesting.

Some like the office to interact with people and others want remote. Just make it hybrid and most problems solved instantly. Stocks market tanking RSUs not enough

The question you have to ask yourself is instead of blaming the leadership being struck in the past, why are you struck here if you don't like it. If the options exist, leave the company. unless you are one those who are half brainy and are desperate to stay here

The company does not care a sh-t about you, so you don't to have care whether they will be in trouble or not. It their style of working works for you hang on else leave. Stop being a pu--y and crying about it

Hock Tan took issue on employes staying home and running their personal businesses on company time. I saw that happening time and time again.

Most of us in offices spend all day in Slack or G-Chat collaborating with our colleagues who are either working from home or working in other offices. It's rare that I actually see anybody on the same team collaborating in person. In fact even people who are on the same team in the same office still use Slack and G-Chat to communicate with each other because the conversation is happening amongst the entire team in the chat.

The point of the office shouldn't be about simply filling seats so that the Town Hall slide has a good number on it ;rather, it should be about building co-located teams with local managers to drive productivity and collaboration.

This also means that people who have permanent work from home status should be gradually transitioned out of Broadcom and offices should be re-seeded with in-office replacements to build teams so those of us in the office actually have people to work with.

Don't tell me I have to be in the office and then dump me in Slack chat rooms for 8 hours. I'd just assume sign into slack from home and save myself the 2-3 hours of commuting and gas/car expenses.

It’s an old model that’s costing us talent.
