Stores in decline

Just a few months ago I thought my store was in terrible shape and that it couldn’t get any worse. Wrong. Already in bad shape it became an even bigger mess. Are there any examples of positive changes happening in any of the stores? I sincerely hope there is, because if not, then there is really no hope for this company.

My store is fairly small: 2 floors. Maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of 2nd floor is Backstage and Furniture. New store manager is on the floor most all the time. Runs register, works the truck, moves fixtures. Truly cares about his staff and our sales, credit, and CX show it.
We're down a manager, captain, and support team but OT is authorized if people want it.

This is the new standard. New goods will be backing up as well. There won’t be any equipment for that as well. Fulfillment will be picking out of cartons on the dock as well. Once June comes watch how the fulfillment numbers crash even more.

Tornado in my store too. Front and back of house. Folks In fufillment struggle to find stuff because it’s hidden in mounds of put always. Store executive team seems resigned to accepting it.

This is exactly why Macy’s needs the store closures. The store fleet is way too large for today’s standards. The store fleet is way too large for today’s standards. There are some pretty badly run Macy’s stores out there with no renovations. Yet, I know some very nice Macy’s locations that seem to do very well. It’s night and day really. They need to renovate the entire store fleet and add more staffing.

My store has over 220 fitting room rods. The sales floor looks like a tornado went through. All fittings room have rods come onto the sales floor. Customers are complaining that the store is disgusting. With this innovation scaling happening in June it’s going to get worse.
