I don't know what it says about a company if somebody who's been here for 16 years (former UTC) is praying to be laid off, but that's what's been happening lately. I know I'm not the only one. Everybody around me is either waiting to be laid off or actively looking for a new job. Things have changed so much in the past two years.

I am hoping to be laid.
I knew some je----f would make the comment you just made. Because I’m looking for work elsewhere. The hours I work are not conducive to having a lot of time to explore things. If I was laid off and could collect unemployment for a short period of time and actually have personal time for once then I could have a much easier time finding a different job. We are worked way more than we should, asked to do our jobs as well as 2-3 other peoples jobs. So, quitting isn’t really an option for me. I don’t get a golden parachute when I leave like all the execs. Nor do I have another lofty position waiting for me on top of the parachute when I leave.
If you dont want to be there and dont care about severance then just quit. Why are you waiting and hoping to be laid off?
I also am hoping to be let go. I don’t even care if there is a severance involved anymore. I’m actively looking for other work, but the way I/we are treated at work and worked to death. It’s hard to spend what little time I have away from work searching for a new job. To say the company has changed is an understatement. I’m legacy Raytheon and I hate what this new company has become. I just wish they’d lay us off and get it over with.
I was hoping to be laid off since the merger and I heard people were taking voluntary lay offs. I decided to just quit finally and feel so much better. There are so many jobs out there.
