I would be ashamed if I were the leader of this company and that during my time it was so downgraded. But our leaders are confident in what they do. Maybe they really think they are making good moves? Maybe they think they run a great company. It would not surprise me at all if that were the case.

Let's not blame PG for the DEI work. Some invisible hand has caused all of silicon valley to embrace it.... it's not just vmware.
We did not see it in the beginning, but the company decline started when the CEO reins were handed from Paul Maritz to Pat Gelsinger. Looking back, PG was extremely over-rated as a leader, especially by those inside the company. Mind you, the current ones are even worse. All PG really accomplished was blowing the company wad on a bunch of overpriced acquisitions in a desperate attempt to stay relevant, most of which failed. He also offshored product engineering and support to the lowest cost areas, taking product quality down the drain. And this mo--nic obsession with DEI all started under PG's watch as well.
vmware (and especially SEBU) is the host of racism and favoritism. SEBU is dragging the whole culture and thus the whole company down to none.
