It’s insane how management at GE values pretenders more than those who actually do all the work. Hard work brought me literally nothing but burnout. I think the ratio of those pretending to be full of enthusiasm and doing nothing and hard workers on the other hand, is almost 5: 1 right now. Maybe even higher? From now on I will pretend to be full of enthusiasm and work the bare minimum too.

Its higher, im next in line for E Band and I spent alot of my day playing Elden Ring.
That's the problem. The opportunity never happens unless your in your management clicks. Independent thinkers are left by the wayside. Neglecting these people could be the downside for our future. If you surround yourself with people that just agree with you your growth has already been stunted.
I think giving people opportunity to grow breeds enthusiasm.
