Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Unsafe Stores

Is anyone else’s store in region 18 as unsafe as mine? We currently have so much freight that it’s making the store a death trap. The stores top stock is literally stuffed with product that can’t go on the shelves. A lot of it doesn’t have a selling location anywhere in the store either.

Now I’m usually a critic of the over night stocking crew but honestly, much of this is corporate Lowes fault. There’s simply nowhere to put this stuff and senior management insists that it get off the floor. They’re just top stocking as much as possible and a lot of the time it’s way too much or it’s stacked way too high.

But what are they legitimately supposed to do? We get trucks almost daily that are over flowing with more and more product. We haven’t had space for any of it for weeks. So they simply stack it higher and cram as much onto the shelves as possible. It’s become crazy. I mention it daily but I hate doing it because it’s obvious that there’s no other place to go with it.

I hold corporate Lowes responsible for this. They are overwhelming the stores and the associates are desperate to cope. But it’s only a matter of time before there’s a bad accident because of this. Lowes needs to stop this insanity immediately. They’re pushing their luck and someone is going to get hurt or ki---d. Fair warning.

Some of the merchants ordering product are absolute id--ts for region 18. Not sure about the rest of the company

Way I was trained by the LP at my old store, estimate my current store would be closed a solid month to fix all the safety issues.

I reported a couple of things anonymously to OSHA, inspectors came. Lowe's was ordered to fix them, at a cost of several $1,000s. The store manager was promoted to customer.

Safety? An employee at a store in AZ, I won't say which one, had a fully raised, 3,000-lb+ load on his forklift and got off his forklift while it was still raised to open the bullpen gate. I guess the weight shifted and in doing so, the forklift tipped into the bullpen fence that crushed the employee. I heard he survived, but he will probably be paralyzed for the rest of his life. Have a Lowe's safe day!

When district LP visits it's all fake. They pretend our store is legit when in fact it's garbage and violations galore. After 30 mins LP and SM head to the bar for the liquid lunch. Safety is NOT a priority at lowes..just sales.

My store has been an obstacle course for months. Try driving around an order picker and you have to get off it every 10 feet to move stuff. A total joke
