I’ve been noticing that some stores seem to bouncing back and some keep getting worse. The store fleet is way too large in my opinion! You can tell which stores that Macy’s seems to care about and those they couldn’t give a cr-p about.

Is there a list of neighborhood stores closing?
I’m intrigued by the list of “neighborhood stores”, especially of some particular locations. There are some stores listed that surprise me. Is there any chance that the list will be altered or even substantially decreased? I mean I can see 25 to 30 of these locations closing but not 51. A renovation and capital going in would probably turn these stores around fast.
Previous post was slightly incorrect there are no mid year closures. Here is the breakdown of the remaining steps in the polaris strategy:
Step 1: Off mall Backstage and Market by Macy's are opened up by end of 2022.
Step 2: 26 of the 51 neighborhood stores would be announced January 2023 to close by March/April of 2023
Step 3: All non-neighborhood stores that have yet to receive renovations will be renovated by the end of 2023.
Step 4: The remaining 25 neighborhood stores would be announced January 2024 to close by March/April of 2024
all the store will close by 2025
Are you a liquidator or Macys exec?
And your source for this detailed information is who?
There are still 51 neighborhood stores. They are waiting to open the off price backstage and market by Macy's stores first by the end of 2022.
After that,
26 neighborhood store closings will be announced in January 2023 to close by April 2023.
25 neighborhood store closings will be announced in June 2023 to close by September 2023.
Then the polaris strategy plan will be complete.
