Can I talk to HR about it to alleviate my concerns?

HRs purpose is to minimize the companies legal exposure, period.
I don't suggest you talk to HR, HRs are changing all the time and don't know their own future, some of the HRs are hired 3rd party partner. I don't think they care.
Can you give some details? We're all sitting here with popcorn!
ADI HR is sinister toward the employees… they are in on it for sure.
Don't talk to HR. They are not on your side. They support management and your efforts to find a solution through HR are a waste of energy. Use that energy to find a new direction in life.

You should talk to HR or write to the confidential employee mailbox @pulse - it is in the directory. Definitely voice your concerns!
