Projects turning into nightmare

Even this last interesting project I was working on turned into a nightmare because the deadlines were so short that I just couldn’t enjoy the work at all. And so it is almost every time. Does every interesting project have to turn into a ton of stress that wouldn't be there if managers knew how to make a better plan?

@yztx+1g2bkjqS Don't forget, some of these "visionaries" came out of retirement to make everyone's life a living ****. At least one of them is now going back to his cave.

The only positive I will say about the current MSD team is that unlike CA, they realize there is a good chunk of money still on the table in the mainframe business. They have a BU that literally could run itself and I think that is the problem. When you have a self run cash machine then there is no reason to have high price executives. So you need self inflicted wounds to give management a reason to exist. I truly believe that senior management is intentionally sabotaging teams and products to create a mess that needs "fixed" by their genius.

Wut? Move to google if you want interesting projects.

confusion reigns because the management layers, at least in MSD, are full of inept "leaders" who couldn't manage their way out of a paper bag, partly due to the fact that some are basically on the "retirement" plan... lmfao...

Don't blame the low level managers, project deadlines are often set by upper management before the teams have a clear definition of what is to be delivered.
Big customer renewals and occasional new contracts drive the dates.
