Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

newbie move or stay in TD ?

hello guys, i'm a relatively new TD member (less than 1.5 years) and have not seen any growth in my role. although that being said, i am very comfortable in my role, going through the motions daily, and i have a terrific team that gets me through the day.
I've been headhunted to join another company but obviously, that opportunity will mean hard work and more hours dedicated to work and exposure to a smaller territory compared to now. would u recommend moving or tide it out in TD? thx in advance everyone.

Strange place to ask for a career advice, I must say

If you're young, no real financial responsibilities and you don't work in a toxic environment like the rest of us do and not worried about your resume just yet....STAY! Stay until something that really catches your eye comes around the corner.

Leave. You can do better. Get out while your resume isn’t too stale.

When I joined TD in 2018, the base salary was above average, not to mention the big bonus. By 2021, base salaries at competitors were bigger than my TD salary and bonus combined. Wage inflation is crazy right now, but only for those willing to job hop. If you prefer to coast at TD in exchange for a lower salary, go for it. Just realize that strategy also comes with a high risk of layoff and stagnant skills. Unless you are near the end of your career, you definitely don't want stagnant skills.

Person who is staying at one company without substantial career growth for more than 2 years must move forward to other opportunities, even if pay is high. Otherwise it's a career trap.

It you enjoy your job, and like your coworkers and have enough to enjoy life financially I think I’d stay. The grass is always greener. It’s flattering to be headhunted but the honeymoon doesn’t last forever. Tell your manager if you want more career growth.

You can always ride it out until a future RIF and take a package
