Contrary to popular opinion, getting rid of experienced employees will not solve all of the company's problems, especially not those that were created by this self-serving management. This was attempted before by many and it always ended in disaster. Show me one company that did better once all of its best employees were gone? I'll wait. This is a disaster in the making...

“Thanks for your business ricoh direct customers… say hello to Mr. Ricoh Dealer. He, his 3 techs and lots of excel sheets, will be handling your business and service going forward. Almost forgot the Dealer’s sulking kids! They’re motivated to help? Hmmm, not so much…”
Time to just unload service to the dealers. Most already have more techs available, with less equipment, than Ricoh does.
Experienced/valuable employees are seen as a threat by ricoh management. The company is eating itself from the inside out by management just trying to get to retirement. Problem is that the situation is so dire that nobody on high has time to question the layoff list.
