Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Citrix reality

Pay on the lower end of industry standard, benefits that leave a lot to be desired, outdated management thinking, slim to none opportunity for career growth, bad practices nobody is trying to change, and managers who like to play favorites without even trying to hide it. That's what working at Citrix today is like.

I think @6muv+1fzzfiSS is HR or DK... everyone is leaving for remote opportunities 30%+ of current TC at Citrix. I've had three team members leave like this. You need to be able to get past the interview gauntlet but most likely you are going to see a bump. I'm looking at anywhere from 30-100% increase - all remote opportunities and one remote-first but local. This is a complete sh!t show and the exodus is only going to get worse. Citrix will survive and will either rebuild or go into maintenance and mass hire offshore. Who cares. I'm audi 5000 as soon as I make it to the final offer round.

People seem to be finding remote jobs at big companies.

"gtfo of here @4zzj+1fzzfiSS south florida or not the industry is changing"

I dont care what you are saying, honestly. There are some HIGHLY paid employees in the FTL office who are in for a very rude awakening when they have to look for a new role with a south florida based company. The citrix salaries are WAY out of wack.

This obviously does not apply to telecommute roles with national companies. But local ones are going to laugh.

I personally had to deal with this when I was trying to leave citrix as a tech director making 180k base salary. I could not find a job paying the same base salary in south florida at the same level.

I had to go national search and eventually work for a company that was national and who offered remote/telework.

And dont think you will get offers from Microsoft or other unless you know someone who can refer you in.

Look at all these people being forced to work at Citrix for low wages, with no benefits or growth opportunities. Hope you can all escape your abusive managers and go get the big bucks you deserve. Stand up against forced labor!

LOL. The industry is paying 175-200k for Senior SREs who don't have anywhere near the workload or responsibility of a Director. The game has changed and "the area" has expanded beyond Fort Lauderdale. This outdated backward thinking is why Citrix is going down in flames.

gtfo of here @4zzj+1fzzfiSS south florida or not the industry is changing and has changed. Avg pay right now for support engineer is 100K+ and the job can be remote so Citrix needs to wake up before it keeps bleeding out to competitors like Zscaler who gladly pays $110-150K :-)

"Citrix is actually paying very well in south Florida"

They pay the HIGHEST in south florida, bar none.

I have a feeling this is coming from someone with little work experience outside of Citrix. Your pay and benefits claims seem baseless. Perhaps you dont see career growth because you are mediocre in what you do? Maybe you are good and simply landed on a bad team. You know, that is possible in any large global organization like Citrix. To give you some contrast, I have seen nothing but career growth since I joined Citrix, have had an excellent management team across a variety of roles, and enjoy better pay and benefits than many people I know working in the industry. Don't be so naive and focus your energy on something that will help you grow.

Citrix is actually paying very well in south Florida, you will have hard time finding who pays more in this area, but Covid comes everyone is able to find remote job, that’s why it’s not as competitive as before, as per benefit, Citrix has very good health insurance and 4 months paid parental leave, they are all very hard to find in industry.

It's not all about useless RSU's. If Citrix is paying a tech director $180k in ft lauderdale that person is never going to find another role at the same level paying the same base salary in ft lauderdale. aint gonna happen.

RSU's are well and good but it depends on the company.

OP was referring to industry standard and NOT FTL. OP was right. Tech directors and others are underpaid esp when it comes to RSUs. Case in point, they are often times getting 5-10x rsu’s outside of Citrix.

"Pay on the lower end of industry standard"

You must be joking... technical directors at citrix, at least at HQ in ft lauderdale are in the 175k - 190k range, plus bonus and RSU's.

No other employer in the area is paying anything close to that for a director level role.
