Thread regarding Commscope Inc. layoffs

Compensation Transformation (or not)

The Mangler naturally puts equal compensation for employees behind all, and then goes on to say that Phase I will cover senior management first (sure, because they're the poorest) and Phase II will cover the rest of the workforce. Well, Mangler, three years is TOO LONG to leave most employees behind.

If you have not been mapped to the CommScope job/compensation levels, your salary is lower, your AIP is lower and your salary increase is lower.

The job market is good. Take care of yourself - work on finding a better job and don't work 12-hour days to handle your work and the work of others leaving.

"HN, a division that brings in nearly $2B a year", and yet from day 1 the C-suite have applied more effort into getting rid of HN, than they have in turning that business segment around! At every ER, and Townhall, the message to all and sundry is that HN is a problem child, low margin, is not valued, and like a gangrenous limb, must be amputated. No time have been wasted in reinforcing that message with presentation slides distinguishing how profitable Core Comm would be without HN. That message is not one which convey value. I've concluded that they clearly lack the commitment to expend the effort required to make HN profitable. Far easier they thought to spin the business off. They have so far failed to execute and deliver on that strategy. What must Comm customers and competitors be thinking of the company now?

"HN, a division that brings in nearly $2B a year"

That's a lot of money to lose.

How diversified is HN?

Wow, look at the recent filings of shares granted to the C suite and I’m sure the lap dogs too,

Make sure they have the KY ready as they sc--w you over bc it’s going to hurt.

Those POS have done nothing to earn it. But will make sure they take money out of your pocket to pad their own. One thing if the company was kicking a$$ but they are floundering.

A division that brings in nearly $2B a year will not be shutdown. Let's part with the crazy talk folks. They will sell HN off for pennies on the dollar before they even think about shutting it down. A buyer is out there patiently waiting for the right price/time.

You make everything sound so rosy, "not shutdown". Wink, wink. Perhaps you forgot to tell us the other great news, ya, meant to say, Mate, about the group in China, that's about to expand their team.

HN will not be shut down soon.

Status reports (when used appropriately) help communicate successes and challenges that need to be addressed. It's a good checklist to review regularly, especially for those working on multiple projects.

Politics and information silos are vast across CommScope. Very few at the top acknowledge or are invested in, the work needed to confront and eliminate these issues,

Yep, I noticed that when she said that the managers will be first. She has got to keep those Powerpoint jockeys happy! The company could save a lot of $$ by cutting 3 levels of management who add no value to the business. All they do is get in the way of productive employees by having them provide status repors to each level of management. As for HN, they have my sympathies. Imagine attending every meeting and to be told that core Comm would be rich if it wasn't for them being a burden. Yet, they expect employee morale to remain high! Go figure. I foresee that pretty soon, HN will be shutdown so that core Comm can reach the promise land overflowing with milk and honey!

No, I'm suggesting that a number of ARRIS employees are under-compensated when compared to CommScope peers and CommScope HR (though aware of this) does not care.

Overpayed? Which city is your reference point? Commscope headquarters?

I don’t fully understand the situation, but it sounds like you’re suggesting ARRIS employees are somehow underpaid. Isn’t it possible some/many could be overpaid?
