Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Did Farley say "We have too many people" or "We don't have enough people"?

We are splitting the company in 3 (Blue, E and Pro). Kumar is saying that parts of the company tied to regional areas would have to keep being regional, but they are going to be split in Pro, E and Blue. So is more people needed to fill the newly created positions, or those guys are going to have 3 managers?

Now in QA, JF say a guy can work in more than one organization. So why are we splitting and creating more management positions?

It seems to me that BF is very anxious of be remembered or considered to be at the same stature of Old Henry Ford. Sorry Bill! You are just a waste of space (and everything else, really) in the business. If not for your family class B shares, you'd be long gone.

Every reorg leaves the company less competent and less capable.

SRD Reorg in 2019, Conway Reorg in 2021, and now Mother of all Re-Orgs in 2022. Very confusing Org changes. At every re-org, they end up fattening the organization, instead of flattening.

He said: "We have too many people. We have too much investment. We have too much complexity," Farley said. "There's a lot of focus on the digital electric growth opportunity, but we believe we have lots of room in our ICE business for better quality, lower structural costs, and radical reduction in complexity."

The stock market wanted the EV's broken out into it's own company to raise the stock price.
The Ford Family would lose preferential voting stock if this happened.
They have now separated the company and spun the heck out of the announcement.
They will bleed ICE and use cost cutting to achieve the $ needed to fund EV's.
When ICE is just down to big trucks or somesuch it will be the next Visteon.
Not a very complex plan.
Scary to anyone in ICE but .....

More bureaucracy More Managers!

They want to bring talent from outside, simply convert half the agency fellas to full time 90% of the job would be done that to without offering lucrative packages.

Both. Too many of the people they think are too old to contribute and not enough of under 30 hipsters they covet.
