Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Current list ending soon.

So, AFAIK, the current closing list,
https://www.sb360.com/select-projects/events/sears-list/

runs out on March 6. So unless he adds some more stores to the list very soon, then we will end up with an empty SB360 list, like we briefly had, last December. Not sure why he does this stuff piecemeal, anyway. Just add them all to the list and shut them all down. But anyway, it looks like we might be staring at an annoyingly empty, SB360 list very soon. Bummer.

@2zci+1fwNRd1z Who exactly are you replying to, and WTF are you referring to? I didn't see anybody write anything in this thread about being "hard". This is a family site, there are other sites for those types of "things".

I don’t give a flying f if it’s “hard”. I’ll tell you what a manager at Kmart told many of my coworkers several years ago, “do your job” 🙄🙄

Well this is list of full line stores that SB handles. Hometowns typically handle their own liquidations in house. But all Kmarts are full line, thus they go through SB. Since Kmart is my primary ficus, the SB list covers it just finely.

SB360's is a list of full-sized Sears and Kmart closing stores. Quite a few Sears Hometown stores are also closing (even as others are opening), but they are hard to keep track of.

This is not an accurate closing list. There are at least 30 or more Sears stores liquidating right now.

the cost of the infrastructure to support the off shore operations has to be significant.

Gee, I don’t remember a time when there were no stores at all on this list. Is this unprecedented!

Well, I think this might be only the second such occasion. The only other 1 I can remember was that brief period this Winter, after Grass Valley closed on Dec. 19, and before the Montana "round" was announced in early January. Other than this, there has pretty much always been "something" on SB360's list since 2020.

Thank you very much for clarifying the fact that the SB360 list has been empty previously, and very recently at that! Sure as I’m sitting here someone who doesn’t follow the stores closely would’ve popped up and made the same old proverbial statement: “Gee, I don’t remember a time when there were no stores at all on this list . Is this the first?”

If I were him, I'd shut down all the full line, stateside Kmarts and Sears, in the next round, and just keep Guam/USVI/PR stores open. But I'm not him, and unfortunately, I don't get to make those decisions. Because if I did, I'd get rid of all of them immediately. But ya, OP, I hope he adds some to the list soon, hopefully before March 6, when the current list probably ends.
