They are interested routing (MX)/Switching with JunOS portfolio. They will migrate the srx customers to their firewalls and ki-l srx. Mist is a plus. Thrash 128 technolgies.

Doubling revenue to $10B. Improve operational efficient by firing execs, managers and just retain engineers. They are eliminating one competitor as well.
Founders left juniper after Netscreen acquisition, that would be hilarious if PANW bought Juniper. What a money laundering joke that would be. Juniper is in so much debt, PANW would have to write Juniper off as a huge loss. But seriously, it would be epic payback.

Yes it is a better option for jnpr but the problem is anet or panw might not want it. They can do better on their own without taking over jnpr's current product lines.

I think Juniper getting acquired either by Arista or PANW is a better option rather remaining as a standalone company. Juniper's revenue growth -ve for the past few years and projected growth is 5% for next years. With this growth rate and immense competition and innovations outside, JNPR can't run as a standalone for a long time. If JNPR chooses to remain as a standalone, they will survive by doing acquisitions like Mist/128 technologies, create a buzz and sell for two years and repeat the pattern.
I am not seeing any more real differentiation from JNPR products, either they get acquired or slowly get ki---d. If not, send more jobs to India and survive for little longer.
OP, I like how you think. But this topic reminds me of a guy here a few years ago, who made this strong argument that arista should buy juniper because they did not have a router solution back then, and that was a good deal to them because they could also "eliminate one competitor". Well.. I hope this guy found a better way to join arista. lol
If this were to happen they would get rid of the drag of doing ASICs and replace with merchant silicon.
This will also position PANW to compete well against cisco and put pressure in all segments of cisco market.
That would be so special considering that Juniper bought NetScreen in 2004 and then migrated the product to Junos essentially ki----g it, while the core people left and formed Palo Alto and out competed Juniper in security.
