Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Irrational decisions

I really can’t believe that the decision makers at Lowe’s had any plan for how everything would work further when they eliminated some positions. They seem to make decisions without thinking things though? Unfortunately, I think that they will also continue to make such irrational decisions until we hit the rock bottom.

I have also seen countless employees sh!ted on in this company. Can't believe they take it, some leave, some stay, I left. Couldn't take it any more after all the cuts. Do more with less, 1 weekend off every 2 months and so on

Why anyone would want to work for some company that sh!+s on its employees like lowes idk. I've seen countless employees get screwed by this company over the years.

"Also expect a cut to the employee discount in the coming year. The E suite has repeatedly said that the discount is overused and costing the company. Plans are to lower it to 5% making it on par with the credit cards."

I've been expecting this since Marvin and the Marvettes took over the E and C suites.

The payroll idea is such a silo view. They spoke about payroll for the last year and a half so nervously on every district call, regional calls were worse. The way hourly cuts happen in the store are not based properly in the field, we proved it over and over. When we brought up turnover due to the flux in schedule for hourly folks, one HR district staff told me that corporate does not care about turnover.

But, this is the plan. They have laid it out and those that choose to stay should plan accordingly.

JFC Marv and the gang are on par with freaking Putin. This place should be named "Blowes" not Lowes.

Like when they got rid of FSA's , Assemblers, PSI's . Marvin doesn't care what employees need to feed their family's and to not to live paycheck to paycheck. Thats why I got out after 9 years

These plans have been signed off on several months ago by all of the E suite and the Board of Directors. The E suite thinks payroll is the problem, and with people actually wanting to make above poverty wages, more cuts will be coming shortly. They have a plan to drive out most FT positions, and fill with PT people. Less total cost in benefits, bonuses, and can cut down to no hours without reprocussion. All means a higher payroll savings. Last I heard the plan was to eliminate all FT positions, except for DS, Pro Specialist, Fulfillment Lead, and Head Cashier, and get the payroll leaning toward a 95:5 ratio. They also plan on making the entire eCAR process easier to have people gone by making performance eCARs become approved by a computer. This way unless someone chooses to fight the write up, no needing to review.

Also expect a cut to the employee discount in the coming year. The E suite has repeatedly said that the discount is overused and costing the company. Plans are to lower it to 5% making it on par with the credit cards.
