I don't think Qualcomm is indifferent when the most talented people are leaving. I know because a colleague told me how his manager reacted when he gave notice. However, at the same time, this company is not trying to keep even those who are the best of us.
The reason for people leaving is mostly pay. Is it too much for Qualcomm to increase pay so the people don't go to a competitor? What are they counting on? Our loyalty perhaps? Unless something changes soon, I'll be joining those who are leaving!

Just import more H1Bs who don't want to stay in their country. They'll do anything to not be deported.

I left over four years ago and there wasn't that much good talent left then. I can't even imagine how bad it is now

@5cxo: I left for the same reason; cheap H1B policy. I honestly don't think management do care at all, cost reduction is the bottom line. It is a corrupt third world culture in the beautiful San Diego...Sad!

I left. It was not about pay.

It was about GSOC being a terrible organization from the top down and their low cost geo strategy in full force. Good luck SD GSOC.

SVP even openly takes about positions being for H1B candidates, US citizens need not apply.

This is probably one of the d-mbest post ever put up! This person knows nothing about the business nor Qualcomm’s vision for the future! There are no great employees at Qualcomm - you grow oranges 🍊 and find a cheaper Orange 🍊 grower is part of the business model! Innovation is nonexistent at Qualcomm so it doesn’t matter if people leave bc no one is creating new business lines and can be replaced. Qualcomm has money to pay whAtever is necessary do you not know how to read a balance sheet! But since Qualcomm hasn’t created a new business in over 20 years why would they pay someone more to keep when the next guy can grow oranges 🍊 just as good and at a cheaper rate! If you feel you are special then bet on your skills and join a start up or another innovative company! You are only a commodity producer at Qualcomm- nothing more!!
