Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Oh, the JOY! Goodbye Teradata!!!!

The best week of my life in the last four years when “The call” happened with the biggest fake @$$h0/= I have ever met in my career here. Couldn’t get the equipment out of my virtual office fast enough, delete any and all files that were no longer relevant, and clean the cr-p off my desk :). Does management really think we are stupid and surprised? Maybe some are but, dam, I was ready and have been interviewing. Some “former” colleagues (love, love, LOVE using that term!) have reached out with condolences —so clueless! Get out while you can! So TD (haha, marketing hates that acronym), Thanks for the nice little nest egg. Moving on and never looking back!!!! (Take that, jerk, who always “advised” others not to use an exclamation point..) heres more !!! Happy days are here again!!!

Right? Turn off camera and smile because the package is a nice insurance while looking for a better place to work. Should be interesting to see how business does as it seems some very heavy hitters either left or were RIfd lately. Can’t be good for business long term. Hope it takes a while for stock to drop so I can cash in and walk away and not look back. Good luck everyone moving into to better opportunities…..

That’s exactly how I felt. I had spent months on eggshells waiting to see if I would be cut before Christmas. It was a huge relief to be let go. On to bigger and better things.

I love this post, I am sorry it came to this but your delight is hilarious. I quit today so it feels equally good.

I got the call too...

Perfectly normal day, the sun was shining. I had client meetings .

I'd booked more and more work over the year (it was hard) but I earn a really good way.. Then, this week, HR join a call.

Oh joy, but then I already knew (from many past colleagues) how this went...

Sorry to inform you...
Please log off and disengage now...
We will be in touch...
Any Questions.. don't bother.

Gotta love it...

SM if you read this - do you love what you have created (inherited).
No accountability, just spin and the ability to hide. I suspect you are just trying to figure out the 'right' exit time - package, share price, and next job offer.

I am sorry you experienced that. I'm sure though that nothing that happens is random and there is definitely a better plan for your future. I am sure you ex-coworkers are upset about your leaving. Don't blame them for reaching out to you.
