Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Market is hot, but...

I don't think it's so easy to find a new, better job. I have never experienced so many people applying for a single position so far and the competition is huge. I've been trying to leave for three months and I still can't get to the interview phase. so I don't think it's as easy to get a better offer as many say it is?

To the person who posted about their inability to be considered for interviews, I would suggest getting some professional help to improve your resume. Your job search experience is somewhat unique -- everyone I know is having multiple interviews and some can choose between several job offers. So, seems like you need help and guidance.

Wishing you better luck in your job search!

Don't worry too much about RSUs, a good company will offer you a sign up bonus great than your annual RSU vest. Especially in this low stock price. In my case it was very easy to match my two RSU grands for this year.
Market is very hot, as long as you bring the right skills and experience. I can guess that it's harder for a college grad with 2-3 years experience to find a Senior job outside this place. There are many examples of promoting kids with no real experience to Seniors in 3 event 2 year or managers hiring them on high level in desperation of filling recs.

I've just started dipping my toes in the water and not even pursuing things aggressively and have already had successful first interviews at two companies. My only fear right now is getting offers and being asked to start before my next RSU's vest.

It's a great time to be on the hunt since Covid taught most companies that hiring full time remote workers is a great opportunity for them to get great talent.

Dive it, put your resume out on all the job boards, fill in your linkedin profile, and be visible.

Not my experience. I dipped my toe in the water a couple months ago and I was 2 for 3 with an offer that I turned down. It’s not going to fall in your lap. You have to work hard, use your network, be clever, and set yourself apart. Keep going — opportunity is out there.

Yoe? Skillset? I went through the random emails from recruiters on linkedin over the past 6 months. I passed the recruiter sniff test and even did some behavioral first round interviews with hiring managers. I'm holding off on doing tech interviews until I've prepared but they are all ready to move forward once I say so. I've discussed comp with every single one and every single one is at least the most I ever made at shitrix and most go beyond that. I also know of people that were laid off in November and most got jobs as soon as the new year started. If you are talking to recruiters I would ask them if they have any feedback before you get off the introductory call. You can literally apply anywhere that offers remote which is most places. If you cold email them you will probably not have much luck. Try contacting headhunters and people that contact you on LinkedIn first.
