Thread regarding Cummins Inc. layoffs

My company just got acquired by Cummins

Any chances somebody can tell me what to expect? How does Cummins handle acquisitions? How bad are layoffs? I know there'll be some for sure because some positions will be made redundant, but I'm hoping it's nothing drastic. I'd be grateful for any info you could provide.

Run run as fast and as far as you can. Horrible company. People quitting and older workers/ managers forced into early retirement.

If you are in HR, payroll, accounting, purchasing, basically anything not specalized, GET OUT NOW! You will be fired eventually. Happened to distributors when they took them over a few years ago. Cummins is not a good company anymore and don't waste your time working for them.

Expect an influx of visa-carrying Indian nationals.

The transition in processes is probably going to be painful. As Cummins doesn't make the change a smooth deal. Any job that is site specific, is pretty safe. However, anything thats handled by the shared services will be laid off. This includes anything financial and payroll. The people being laid off, will be asked to train the shared services in the process. Hope this helps.
