Some say it's just a job - so do the job - get paid - no hard feelings. Yes, but I feel more and more that this company is just using us, that is, that we are giving much more than this company is giving us back. It's an ugly feeling. How many times did you feel used here?

Instead of your CEO spending 5 billion dollars making a political statement he would do better cleaning his disgustingly dirty stores and updating the appearance of the stores. Most look like the 1980’s.
This is why Macy’s lost its core customers ; poor quality merchandise, dirty stores and no help.
The company has $5 billion to spend on this initiative very interesting. Yeah I would start looking elsewhere or at least if any indication you or your site could be headed out get your resume up to date home slice
You have about 18 months left. 1 more holiday season and the house of cards falls. This “Mission Every One” being the focus over operations and financial prudence to the tune of $5B is evidence Macy’s as a national department store is in its death throes.
The store you describe where the store manager and most managers sit in the office all day sounds like store #621.
It is a toxic work environment.
So why are you still here if you feel you are being used? It's your decision.
Time for you folks to get a new job.
Hard to reach the endless expectations when only 1/4 of the team is actually doing their job. I’m burning out from my fellow managers doing a lot of nothing in the executive office, sadly this includes the Store Manager. Can’t just sit at a desk all day and only communicate on theatro. 🙄
I decree today that retail is simply taking and not giving,
Macys is mine,
And it owes me a living,
Ask me why and I'll sp-t in your eye,
Oh, ask me why and I'll sp-t in your eye.
I feel the same way. The ask a lot from us but but we get nothing in return. All they do is take away from us such as commission, cut in hours plus a reduction of my salary by 30 % when they took the commission away. They reduced my hourly average because the company wasn't doing well. Now Macy's is doing really well and we were screwed.LIKE ALWAYS
