I don't know anyone who's here just because they want to be here. Most people I know are still here because they haven't been able to find something else.
Perhaps only those in higher positions are comfortable enough so they don't have to think about other options, although I'm not sure about that either. What do you think, how many people actually enjoy working here and see their future in this company?

Crucification is too good for them, sir !
Like most others I am just bunked, having very relaxed job waiting these few more years for retirement. Paycheck is ok and given low expectations it is worth the risk of being laid-off. TD may not be best brand and morale is low but I do not care, just let me be
Well, if you have some RSUs to sell next week and a bonus payment just paid out or coming up shortly, then you have nothing more to stay for in 2022.
For those that decide to hang around you can form an orderly queue, line on the left - one cross each.
I can't speak for non-tech fields... but if you're "stuck" in a tech job, in the 2020's, then that's all on you. Tech is a field where you have to keep current and constantly learn new things. Most people who are staying current with their skills, have a polished resume, and are taking proper advantage of LinkedIn and various job sites... they are constantly getting emails and calls from recruiters. And yes, there's a lot of competition, but the last two times I took a serious look, I was looking at offers in a fairly short time.
Love it and so does the team I work in. Sure there will be sh1t teams and sounds like you are stuck in one. But only you can change your future so go out and do it. Use your negative energy that goes into posting here most days to go hunt for new roles, polish up your resume or do dome training. If the world is your oyster don't stand at the ranch sucking on lemons all your life.
That is a good one(from Hotel California):
You can check-out any time you like
But you can never leave!"
For the Rancho Bernardo / El Segundo folks, it's like Hotel California within Hotel California. If you've seen the movie Inception, you'll know what I'm talking about.
I’m just a couple years shy of retirement and just putting in my time. If I was laid off today I’d be fine, but why not keep the healthcare and high salary as long as I can get away with it? I do feel sorry for anyone under age 50.
Enjoy working here but don’t see a future. There is no leadership or direction to turn the company around.
