Even though COVID and Reshape SVS were fairly "recent", it's inevitable that another round will be in the offering. I'm hearing will placed rumors that it could be as soon as 6-8 months to allow for bonus and Reshape shakeout

Trust no one at Shell and never disclose your personal plans.
“ don’t tell ANYONE you’re retiring!”. I’m going to have to call b…s..t on that point. I’ve been through many of these so called “reorganization” over my 30+ years and never have I seen Shell turn someone down who had discussed retiring. As a matter of fact, in the latest Reshape reorg, 2 individuals (JG2 and JG4) in my group we’re told to hold off bc of the upcoming opportunity. Why would Shell do that if they’re legitimately trying to downsize? To save a few bucks with the reality that these employees will just put their feet on the desk or work from home (wink wink) for the next 3 years? Now there have been uniquely skilled individuals working on critical projects ( few and far between) turned down, but were in turn offered the opportunity to defer for a year or so then allowed to take the money and run. If you’re seeing this occurring, I would be surprised.
Yeah, normally line managers will help people take the SVS, unless they're a total jerk.
“I don't get why line managers would care.“
No one in management got there by calling their own fouls. They are there because they love the game and love messing with people.
I don't get why line managers would care. It's not like they personally see any benefit to denying their staff severance. None of those "cost savings" trickle down to them. If anything they should put them in scope to make the reduction decision easier on them.
I’ve also heard from a couple of different (and solid) information pipelines that another round will be early next year. I know the JG99s are worried. They may be the first on the block to be targeted. We will see.
Echoing the previous reply: don’t tell ANYONE you’re retiring!
I had a JG2 on my previous team who missed out on 23 years of SVS pay because he mentioned retirement off-hand to a teammate - who then told our supervisor. Line manager sets up a 1:1… “I heard you’re considering retiring soon” SVS request ends up being out of scope.
SVS alert: if you had planned on retiring this year anyway, do NOT let your manager or anyone else know. Otherwise he/she will take your position out-of-scope for this next SVS.
Is the severance going to be for offshore hourly and staff personnel also.
Oh I hope you are right. I was unable to take SVS last January, but my personal circumstances have changed and I planned to retire at the end of this year, but am willing to hang on for a few more months if they offer SVS.
Extremely credible source. What is still not clear is if it will be a "targeted" offer only, e.g. Manufacturing. There will be more pressure to implement Powering Progress on a faster timeline but it can be achieved by selling more carbon heavy assets, investing in the new energy space and offshoring work to Poland, etc. I'm told by early to mid summer it may become more "clear". However, with oil prices rebounding it may financial su----e to sell your more profitable assets. We are just to heavy to pull off a successful new energy strategy.
Where are you getting information, because I’m hoping to get a severance.? Is the information coming from a credible source?
