Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Workload

How are any of you dealing with backlog in your stores? We are still dealing with cages of goods since inventory. We don’t even have the equipment to take in new goods. Is anybody in the same situation. I’d really like to know how your dealing with this problem. I have trucks everyday and not enough equipment to do the job right. The new system is only going to make this worse.

Sounds like the merchandise team has problems putting the stock on the floor. They need to be creative so they can catchup with the product coming in so it can be sold not stored.

We have enough flannel sheets in our stockroom to last us through 2023.

Eventually these stores will be converted into massive distribution hubs, this explains the extreme surplus of merchandise that is shoved into these stores. Writing is on the wall, I don’t know.. I like the stock

I haven’t been empty since this time last year. We just did penny from Christmas still in the cartons on cages on the dock.

No. Dock is clear. Floats are empty. Nothing in the stockrooms. One truck a week store also. Markdowns on time. Backstage maybe a day behind Store and processes are managed well.

What 'new system' are you referring to? I'm in a fairly small store with 1 truck a week. We still have stock on the dock waiting to be put out tho from earlier in the week
