Rumor about severance pay

I've been very worried lately because a colleague told me about rumors that severance pay is likely to be reduced. Has anyone else heard anything about it? That would be really humiliating. If that rumor is true, I won't have any dilemma whether to leave right away. Please spill the beans.

Whatever you ask for make sure its guaranteed and in writing! This is a very shrewd company! they lay people off in June so that the employee's 401k match trigger the following January. We are talking of a measly few thousand $ here......

Its also a heck of a lot easier looking for a job when you're already

Win as one 1%.....LMAO...FU Carlos and Sreeni ....you guys take that one percent ....hahahahah

Short lived reprieve! They writing is on the wall. They will cut you first opportunity they get. No one is getting a 20+% bump

Look outside you may find a better pay/ opportunity/ peace of mind and then evaluate.

Not entirely true. A whole department is receiving walking papers as their jobs are going offshore. Layoffs are happening regardless of the fact we are very understaffed. Automation and outsourcing are the name of the game now. They are steady pushing sales, but we are severely low on the staff needed to adequately service any potential new clients.

They are rushing automation too quickly, and when it bo--s they lack the staffing to roll back to the status quo when things neednto be reworked.

Ive said this recently on a different post but I still dont see how layoffs can happen in the near future. The company is still short 5 to 8 THOUSAND FTEs. You cant do large layoffs with attrition so high. Small cuts for "low performers"? Yes, but they cant slim down the company anymore than the employees have done right now.

The better news is now is the time to ask for a raise. They need you. Get more $ for your work. Put together an outline, a three slide ppt, anything to showcase your stance. You will likely get it. And if you dont, well now you know where you stand.

For what its worth, i have heard from mid level leadership that the name of the rto game is "flexibility". Ask for 2 or even 1 day in office work. You will probably get it!
