Thread regarding CVS layoffs

How would you rate the morale here?

I start every day with cramps in my stomach because of the micromanager without any vision. I can't be productive in such atmosphere. I think morale has never been worse here, precisely because of the wrong people in higher positions.

Comment below mine talks about front store margin....guess they don't know how to read their P&L yet....front stores operate below their margin, that's why it was taken off the scorecard years ago. All margin is made in RX.

I agree with the last comment. Retail is not going away anytime soon. CVS needs the margin from FS.
I do see the structure changing where lower volume FS’s could go to an hourly SM or completely go away in favor of an op’s manager reporting to the pharmacy manager. Anyway you slice it, I don’t see CVS keeping SM’s in the current capacity across the chain with retail bringing in less $.

I disagree with the comment directly below mine, here is why:

While retail isn't a large portion of their core business based on revenue, CVS pharmacy likely needs it to continue to attract customers, especially elderly customers.

As they are waiting for their prescriptions to be filled, they shop. If CVS doesn't have a retail business, a fair amount might take their scripts to dr-gstore that do...like grocery chains or Walmart.

Karen’s ultimate goal is to get rid of retail anyway. Cvs is a PBM, insurance company and a pharmacy. Retail is less than 5% of the business. Any person with common sense would have figured this out by now

Bro. Are you kidding? The culture on this company is broken from the top down. Even if the new leadership in place gave a darn to change it, it’s too late. Once Tom Ryan left and all of the Macy’s scumbags took over retail has been heading in the wrong direction. For everyone who is going to be staying with this company sake. I CVS would take the retail unit and just sell it, or put it out of its misery

When I leave this Godforsaken company on 3/15 it will be similar to the relief you experience after taking a good dump after being constipated for 20 years

I do the minimum to meet metics . For the last year. So burned out on staff turnover and doing job 2 and three people ongoing. Hopefully they are waking up about if employees are happy it Will trickle down to members. The last town hall meeting suggested the they realize that. I am not convinced only Time will tell and until I am treated like a valued employee working under qualified mgmt and full vs high turn over staff cvs will get what they put out. All I have seen since cvs started writing my checks over aetna is a bunch of talk on value of employees
