US to inspect 787s, Boeing not Allowed

They finally figured out they can't trust the Boeing high school dropouts, GED recipients and University of Phoenix graduates

WASHINGTON, Feb 15 (Reuters) - The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on Tuesday said it would perform final inspections on new Boeing (BA.N) 787 Dreamliner aircraft, and will not allow the planemaker to self-certify the jets.

The 2000 Boeing engineering strike...the only engineering strike in Boeing history...was about preserving engineering and engineering management competence given the opposite direction Phil Condit and Harry Stoneciper were taking the Boeing company.

Yeah, the end days for Boeing were discussed and accurately predicted by a Bob Bogash "Not Acceptable" blog that went viral within Boeing and outside Boeing in 2008. Just Google it. This motivated many of the best managers to rank their best engineers (at their request) low enough so they could qualify for incentive layoff (a year of severance pay, etc.) and escape Boeing either to retire early or to work for better companies. So over time, all the best engineers and managers eventually departed Boeing in good fashion leaving what you see today.

Many of the best engineers and managers that tried to correct a multitude of deficiencies with 787 design and manufacturing were sent packing by Boeing leadership and went on to assist to COMAC and SpaceX. Same story with 737Max and 777X. Corruption and nepotism ultimately destroys companies and countries.

It will take decades before Boeing regains the trust of the FAA and the public in general. They’ve proven that Boeing’s only commitment was to making money safety be damned. Now they live with the consequences of those decisions.

Yes, in Boeing terminology, COMAC will Far Exceed naysayer expectations as did Airbus.

Surprised FAA is allowing any 787s to fly given the reports of structural defects that were concealed for many years. People like to say China can't build a quality and safe airplane...just like they said about Japan building a quality and safe car. But they reality is that China and COMAC now have a far more competent and experienced workforce than Boeing.
