Does anyone know about the new dress code?

They say jeans because it’s what the company is going after this year and what they want the customers to buy, but I think it’s just so we can do the other jobs we don’t normally do and be comfortable. You don’t have to wear jeans if you don’t want to. You can wear active shoes they just have to look clean and neat. Sounds like this integrated selling is gonna change everything get ready.
Can someone tell me how the stores already doing the Innovative Selling Program, men's shoe department works? Do you still have associates in the department or is the stock all out on the floor for customers to grab what they need and checkout wherever?
Merchandisers and Sales colleagues will be working as one team once the Innovation Selling Program rolls out in June. Sales colleagues are not use to heavy lifting, bending, and climbing on ladders.
Not sure how it can be any heavier of a workload for merchandisers. We are used to heavy lifting, bending, climbing on ladders etc.
True clothes is optional but you want to be relax and comfortable with the heavy workload that is coming this June.
Clothes optional
It's a massive makeover how this company is turning into.
I have seen jeans being worn in Receiving and by some Colleagues on the floor. Back of house really not a big deal but gives you the feel of Target or Walmart. The Tech Support person from NCR is one of the best dressed people in the store LOL when he is there for service tickets.
Most anything is better than the all-black from a few years back. Currently my store allows jeans on Friday and Saturday.
Our dress code in our store starts in March, we were part of Innovation Selling Program since the spring of last year 2021.
Half of my location has been wearing jeans for a few years now with management "not noticing" even with the colleague standing right next to them. At least now they will be in dress code.
One difference is that Target stores are clean and organized. Macy’s stores especially the restrooms are dirty. The carpeting is stained, not vacuumed, shelves are covered with dust, fitting rooms are full of clothes, merchandise on the floor.
Target is much cleaner. Hopefully these changes will better organize and clean up the Macy’s dirty stores.
Macy's has change alot it wasn't like this before. They are trying to keep up with other retailers.
Look at Target all the employees are wearing jeans for work. Now Macy's are going to start doing it too. There's something similarities with this two company, fulfillment, curbside, customer service department, checkout stations, medium wage $15/hour, and employees wearing jeans. 🤔
Well Macy’s merchandise assortment has changed to be that of a mass merchant . I guess allowing jeans is one of the final things that solidifies that Macy’s is no longer a department store.
A great American icon no more.
The regional can visit the stores wearing sneakers but associates cannot wear sneakers??? Typical Macy’s double standard.
right they give you something yet they want blood in return eff your jeans
The dress code is changing because of Innovation Selling Program. You could wear jeans 👖 but no tore up jeans. Also no graphics tee shirts or active tee shirts like Nike, addias, and under armour. You could wear plain tee shirts or polo shirts. Also no active shoes, you could wear casual shoes for work. Also for the ladies no more leggings. You could wear casual pants or jeans 👖 for work. The company wants for the employees to feel relax and comfortable, now with the new work load with this new program. Basically people this is the new culture of Macy's. 🥺
they are allowing jeans so they can have you work on the dock when you are not ringing
They basically just codified the existing state of sartorial disaster
Jeans are on the menu! I saw it with my own two eyes!
When and why is the dress code changing?
