Agree on the PR team. For the most part. But there’s still confusion on the new building. Will downtown store close? The last story was so much positive spin it didn’t have any substance. This article was better.

Despite him. His value is questionable once you get past his first 30 mins shtick. He hates interacting with us and would rather troll sites like these trying to figure out how he can be more effective than actually do the work. His favorite team is the PR group. Because they bring him the most personal value. And the PR team is doing great BTW. Regardless of how poorly NM is actually run and how dysfunctional we are, we look great in the press, especially WWD. That’s not by accident. Hides a lot of warts. If only the press was true.

I think honestly we’re doing it despite him. Our store leaders are carrying the brunt of the motivation and also the punishment that David and GVR like to give out. We’re all very much a nameless face to GVR but my store, for the most part, gives me some peace. Did I have a better feeling about the company in my first five years then my last four? Yes. The family feel from Dallas has been lost.

Biggest achievements? Big picture view: after two years he happily led us into bankruptcy (“it was a strategic move”) and then out of bankruptcy. He managed to make money on the way in ($4M ) and on the way out ($10M). $14M in less than a year. And no doubt negotiated a big deal for himself going forward. While the team he loves struggled with healthcare costs, making rent and layoffs. On the positive side, we’re doing better financially. But is it because of him or despite of him?

I think he gets him ru-p kissed more than enough in his personal life without a two bit Maximus gluteus kisser who is a member of his inner circle who knows nothing but to say yes your right Geoffy.
