Two more are leaving my small dept at UPC. Turnover is more like 20-25% than the 6-7% UP tells us it is. Or they have a funny way of calculating it.
And there's no overlap for training, so each iteration knows the job less and less well. It's scary.
New hires keep quitting at Proviso. They barely last a month. Poor guys apply for the job not knowing what they sign up for: no weekends, working on holidays, vacation system and NO sick time. If you are a new hire, think twice! And good luck!
This company is a joke and it ain’t funny
People are resigning, and Beth continues to get promotions. I’ve never seen a company so out of touch with the workers on the ground
People always want to generalize UP’s failure and compare it to any large company. Bro they’ve been rated the worst company like 3 years in a row lol. They stank.
Chicago shop. At least few machinists and electricians talking about quitting UP this year. If you look outside, other companies pay much better that railroad. Especially for electricians. Good luck everyone!
If the retirements holed true. Zone 100, 3rd district. Are out of Engineers. By June 2022. To many forced to hostling for years have left. Got to thank the Mogasan agreement. Another UTU Plus!!!
@1bjz You’re mistaken. UP is not just “any large company”. You’re making an error in judgement, look at the Glassdoor reviews. There are different levels of pain and suffering, some are worse than others.
The replacements we’re getting, YIKES! They either know it all, tattle tell, or completely clueless. Buckle up folks inability to retain experience is going to make all the rest of our jobs less safe and definitely more miserable. Those of us still left will be worked like dogs until you quit, or have a serious medical condition. Stay safe TEAM!
Lance said awhile ago 75 per day were leaving. I see the trend is still happening.
We lost 5 more people in my area last week.
More leaving law dept.
Dispatchers are leaving at a rate of 4 per month. Replacing them is not easy
They are having a high turnover. We are starting to look like Renzenberger
Yep, it's a constant churn at any large company.
People always come and go in a large organization. You can’t expect a company with over 30,000 employees to have no turnover.
3 have quit signall in the last two months that I know of. Zone 4.
