Today was a sad day. Management held a meeting with both shifts after work at Optumrx pharmacy in Carlsbad ca. They announced starting March 14, 2022 second shift will end. They handed out a piece of paper to all employees with a room number. We were instructed to go to whatever room was listed. There they would let us know our faith if we no longer would be employed by OptumRx beginning 03/14/2022. Nobody saw this coming. All they said was a all hands on meeting. We all worked so hard throughout the years to help get these prescriptions out to our costumer’s. Even through Covid quarantine we worked our butts off. We helped work endless amounts of overtime so that other new Optum pharmaceutical buildings could get going. Very sad day for the Optumrx family.

I worked there for 3 months back in 2018/2019 and i am so glad I left. I didn't like the vibes there, couldn't quite put my finger on it til now.... shady af. You know they (the higher ups) saw this coming but yet they lied instead of warning their employees... they don't give af if you have a family. I hope you all find a better company. Biotechnology needs people, they pay well, lots of locations in Carlsbad & oceanside. Good luck Optum fam
This is not the first nor it will be the last time. Due to “organization restructure”you will be lay you off. Open a new facility and hire for cheap then close. Let meGive you an example: pc 115 - Las Vegas Nevada specialty pharmacy. It’s closed. It’s the UHG culture.

Feel bad for some. Others were corporate simps and believed in the propaganda and used words like "work husband", we're a "family" and other corporate brainwashing, indoctrination, gamefication. I feel for all of those employees and their families impacted by this closing but at the end of the day, this is the true nature of MOPtumRx. What else did you expect?

Lol. When you walk around the mail order pharmacy no handbags or backpacks allowed. I was always allowed to carry my handbag. I just told them it was too expensive to leave in a conference room and afraid one of the scummy workers might steal it. I carry Chanel.
This has been known for some time now. I use to go to the mail order facility to observe and do audits with the compliance officer and then go have lunch and shop at the Carlsbad outlets. I miss the good ole days.

this is not right. we all worked so hard and believed what the bosses said. They told us that our hard work would pay off, and keep our noses to the grindstone and things will work out. We met our metrics, hit the puck to the net, and met the intersections of quality and coordination. What happened? Terminated.

Totally agree. One needs to examine why a corporation would start in such a bad state that 'hates' business and the cost of doing business in said state is threw the roof (e.g., compliance costs, taxes, forms, fees, forms, forms, fees, taxes, more forms)--that ends up with massive costs.. The end result is employee terminations in said awful state.
Why as a company would leadership put an operation in such a business unfriendly state? The original decision was stupid correcting an error is what is being done.
The company is not very ethical, I was injured their, told to go on temp. disability not workers comp. Recovering from surgery a week ago and get the ax. Years of dedication mean't nothing to them, sad.
The leadership at Carlsbad straight up lied to us. I heard the rumors about us closing months ago. Leadership told me straight out that they would not blind side us and would let us know if they hear anything. Then they drop this bu-----t on us yesterday. They knew for months about us loosing our jobs but hid it from us.
It has sent a shockwave throughout the Carlsbad,CaA OptumRx location. I guarantee other Carlsbad, CA departments will be next!

No loyalty and tell me again how unions aren’t needed. At least the people with the the least years on the job would have gone first.
