Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Think before you leap

I advise people to also take time to review the company's statement of financial position and the income statement. Citrix is a profitable company but not a stock market darling. It's products are going to be in use for a long time and you have an entrenched customer base that needs both on-prem and cloud based solutions.

Of course always look at market opportunities that further your career but just don't act irrationally without you doing the work of evaluating your current position in the org and your assessment of future prospects of your team in relation to the company.

Since company is going private there will be no financial statements to review

But yes, let's be rational. Not about leaving, rather when to leave. Preferably take March and April RSUs. Beyond that expect steady decline in benefits and comps, so plan ahead to either voluntary or involuntary departure within a year. Just don't be naive and "shocked" like many from November layoffs were

Think before you leap? It's a no brainer. Vista is going to offshore all the tech jobs and citrites are going to be laid off.

Considering the market is offering better salaries and benefits for tech jobs, it makes sense to leave since citrix won't move an inch to try to retain talent. A lot of people got stiffed last year on merit increases and a few months ago, threatened to be fired over a vaccine. The PRSU debacle shows where their priorities are.

Every place I've ever been that used Citrix was desperately trying to get themselves off of it, and those who managed to do it were overjoyed when they finally did.

Personally, none of that matters if the company does not hire the adequate staff to take on the loads and invest in the teams. Yes we made money, yet we have been in a hiring freeze for over a year.
