Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Is VMware for sale?

Rumor is that they are shopping the company. We saw what happened with Citrix. What have you heard?

vSphere and VROPs for sure. They could probably create a more usable automation platform than VRA in a weekend.

Google could carve out vSphere and vRealize and let the rest go quietly.

It's been an excellent run...

Citrix products were already in freefall. No idea if the decision making for VMware is as bad as Citrix (ask a Citrite about EDaaS), but I doubt VMware is at risk of a firesale with your pants down.

It would not be awesome to be sold again.
Any sale will go to venture capital that will finish the blood-letting that Michael Dell started. They will suck every last corpuscle from the body.

VMware will likely get sold to a PE investor like Citrix did, that will milk the revenue. Amazon does not need legacy technology. They are far ahead of VMware.

We have so much attrition. Could this be why? People see the sale coming?
