Thread regarding Kroger Co. layoffs

Kroger doesn't care!

The average starting pay in my area is over $16 an hour with benefits. That is Walmart, target, sprouts and everyone else pays more. We start part time at $12.83 (minimum wage) go to top pay of $15.10 (after 4 or 5 years).
You can never get full time unless you move up to manager. Then get treated like a number.
My store manager had cancer. She was out for 16 weeks. She was only paid by having to pay for short term and long term insurance. When her short term pay moved to long term pay. Long term pays only 70%. She was told she could not use her sick pay to make up the difference. Kroger made the decision that they want to incentive someone to come back to work even after 2 surgeries. Also when she is out fighting cancer doesn't earn a bonus. They get to save money on salary and bonuses. A win for kroger.
Remember they care. Or they feel that if they keep saying the lie, you will believe it.
Me and the management were all told not to say anything to people going to open interviews. They don't want us to tell the truth.
Well you can get a job here and make $4 an hour less and be a part-time clerk. Working 6 days a week for 24 to 30 hours. Every holiday and weekend. Morning and night no set schedule. You will get to be under scheduled in every department. Asked to do the work of 2 people.
But as I said kroger doesn't care! They need to give our cao another 45% raise.
