Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

What about accrued PTO

Asking TIBCO people what happened to any accrued PTO you had at acquisition? Did it get paid to you? Did you lose it as I hear TIBCO has "unlimited" PTO at manager discretion, I assume meaning no accrued PTO.

EX-TIBCO - Well these accrued PTOs are part of accounting liability to the company. So if and when they transition to "umlimited PTOs", they will pay you for the balance PTOs. So don't rush to take those leaves.

But talk to the HR as laws might have changed. For us, the transition to "unlimited PTOs" happened just before the company went private. But we were paid for the remaining PTO balance.

Might need to take a few months PTO to travel to Europe and South Asia on a dream vacation.

They can't take it, but once the company moves to "unlimited" they can make you to take first the accrued PTO. This happened when GoTo business was merged with LogMeIn.

Are you saying that from experience as part of TIBCO? I understand no future PTO will accrue, however my understanding is you are in essence leaving Citrix and joining TIBCO. I assume there will be a new offer and HR paper to sign. As part of the leaving Citrix what happens to accrued PTO? I know when you are laid off in my state you get 100% of the PTO paid out, some states get 50%.

Unlimited pto sounds amazing. Must be a very low stress place to work.

It's gone. That's part of the reason. Remove the liability. I'm not sure if California has any laws around that but the rest of the US you are screwed.
