Couldn’t be further from the truth. I’ll form my own beliefs, thank you.

You inadvertently are normalizing / downplaying the egregious behavior of way too many managers. You also oversimplify when you say “plain and simple”. Its not plain and simple when someone owns their house, their spouse may have a good job, their children have roots in their schools and the only railroad close by is UP. If a UP employee has years invested in railroad retirement and roots where they live and has planned on railroad retirement to provide for their family in the future but UP has become such a terrible place to work its not “plain & simple”. To “just quit, plain & simple” when it would benefit the employee, UP as a company, the community's UP runs thru, and this country as whole for UP to treat and pay their employees fairly is by far the better option. All the problems brought to light on this site could be fixed by just a few people who run this company. Thats the only “plain & simple” there is to it. Reading & posting on this site is at least a good start as this site provides information for UP employees to learn and understand each other.
I am not normalizing anything. What I am saying is this is a job and nothing else. I have worked for other companies that treat their employees as bad or worse than UP, so this isn’t exactly something new. Their are very few companies that value their workers. We are just a means for them to make profits, nothing more. If you think you are treated badly here, go to a non-union factory where you can be fired for the first incident you have, and I mean really fired, not measly disciplined.
@1rf you should stop normalizing the abuse too many UP employees are subjected too.
Stop with the pleasure nonsense. This is a job, nothing else, plains and simple. If you don’t realize this and have the mindset that UP isn’t your family, you have serious problems. Do your job, go home to your family and get your pleasure there.
A managers only job at UP is to make their boss happy. Nothing else. So what happens is the execs are pleasured by those beneath them, then the directors, the directors then are pleasured by the managers, BUT!!!! When a naive agreement employee thinks we are here to railroad ie move freight instead of pleasuring their manager then that manager becomes highly agitated. When the manager has wh0red themself to their director that leaves them w/ a huge emptiness inside that makes them hate themselves. They then need the agreement employee to wh0re themselves to the manager so the manager can fill that empty void left inside them from their director. When the manager doesnt get pleasured from someone else thats what makes them so angry.
