Thread regarding Hy-Vee layoffs

They couldn't care less about you

You can complain all you want here or even officially, it will change exactly nothing in the way you're treated. The company and its leadership couldn't care less about you. To them, you're nothing but a number. That's why it's so easy for them to get rid of people who have been here for decades in some cases and who've given the company their all. You're not safe and you'll never be safe. Fact.

I agree it is just a job but if you ever said that to Randy he would fire you. Randy wants all employees to live, eat, and breath HyVee. He wants total loyalty to HyVee but in return will just treat you like your just another number.

Yes, it's mutual. It's a little weird if you thought they cared. I mean it's a job, Randy's not your pop that never showed up for your T-ball games. It's a business and you sold your labor for dollars, that's not to say you can't work with people that care the best for you but seriously getting bent about this is lame.

Nothing will change. Randy will still be Randy so until he is gone HyVee will be a train wreck. Randy is not capable of realizing his bad ideas is putting HyVee at risk. He wants HyVee to be everything but a a grocery store. Unlike last time when HyVee laid employees off we won’t HyVee Covid to save us. These cuts are just the beginning.

I work at HST, and people at this office are mentioning Reddit, Facebook, LinkedIn, and this website when talking about public and internal perceptions of Hy-Vee. People here are talking about it and we've already seen executives show some fear at the end of last week. It makes a difference voicing out complaints. We've already had a few walk- outs and resignations. One executive I know resigned right after Randy's video came out on Thursday. While I agree that a lot of leadership doesn't care and perhaps nothing will change immediately, I have a shred of hope that backlash might be strong enough to make some change this time.
