Thread regarding Hy-Vee layoffs

How long could the layoffs go on?

Any realistic predictions? It seems the people in charge want this to go on as long as possible and it looks like they are keeping the secret about what the final number of layoffs is going to be.
If layoffs had to happen, wouldn’t it be more fair if they let the employees know how fewer of us will be working here in the future. I say, just rip the bandied off. Much better then the now present atmosphere of fear that they planted.

There will always be layoffs, we exist in an economy that is unpredictable it's just something we have to accept and be prepared for.

I work at HST. They didn't realize how much backlash they would receive from people they kept employed. We've already had people quit in IT and a lot of us want to. There are areas where they will really hurt if people leave. I've heard it straight from executive leadership in my department that they fear employees leaving en-masse. One of those people is me, and I know of two others ony team as well - just waiting for interviews to wrap up and to make a choice. Right now, higher ups are on alert because they're now at risk of losing a large percentage of their IT employees, which would be very damaging for them.
